PATAGONIA

An AR app that lets you scan any Patagonia item on the spot, no QR code, no hassle, and instantly see its full sustainability story.

01

The Concept

Our idea was an AR app for Patagonia — no QR code needed. You simply point your phone at any Patagonia item, and the app automatically recognises it, showing full sustainability statistics about that specific piece.

I had to switch groups in week 2 because someone’s partner wasn’t present enough, but despite the disruption, the three of us made something beautiful and, above all, effective. I especially enjoyed designing the app itself.

Promotion

To promote the app and raise Patagonia’s awareness among young people, we built a Snapchat filter and a video demonstrating the app in action.

Why Snapchat?

Patagonia’s target audience — young, environmentally conscious people aged 18–30 — is highly active on Snapchat. An AR filter is native to the platform, costs nothing to share, and spreads organically when people enjoy using it.

The filter was designed to feel on-brand: clean, minimal, and tied to the outdoors aesthetic Patagonia is known for.
